some people just want something for nothing
« on: October 02, 2008, 06:28:59 pm »
I did a customer today and a new manager showed up, making his presence known to me sort of thing, then asked...

How much is it then
me: £9
manager: is that for a three cleans or something
me, starting to get annoyed: no, its £9 per clean.
manager: ohh no, just cancel it then
me: no probs

The job was two 12ft pains out only, and 12ft entrance, 9ft door, with 3ft window above it, and two pains at the side 9ft and 3ft. Did the glass door and surrounding glass in and out. It took me about 15 mins with etention poles.

Really sorry to loss it, cause the guy I was dealing with was a great guy, really decent. Too bad about the other one though, actually thought I would come out and spend 1/4 or a hour cleaning his windows for the likes of £3. Some will never learn, they'll just have dirty windows then.

Should have said,

manager: ohh no, just cancel it then
me: no probs, i was losing money on this job anyway, i was only doing it this cheap because of "name of other bloke u like there"

Dont forget its not only the time to do the job its also the resources and time to get to the job.

They will prob get some cheapo that will sack them off after a few cleans cos they priced to cheap anyways, and yes as you said get left with dirty windows. :P

Dont forget if they ask you back, charge extra (initial clean :P )

Yehh no I count that in, it took me about 5 mins from my last customer, mostly all of my customers are within a 5 min drive or each other.

No worries anyway, give me a gap for a bigger fish.  ;D

not telling  :P

Its not a residential. I just dont like giving reference on my custies on here. They keep me in a job etc, but this one isn't now so, posted up about it.

Has anyone else had something, simillar, job been great with one person, then start dealing with someone else and it ends up causing problems?

gerard  :)

Stan where are you from roughly, I am within 25 mile of glasgow. I think your £7 qoute might still be too dear for this guy.

Yes the Albert Edward dock at the western end of town (sorry. read CITY) used to be the biggest inland dock in the UK, don't know about now though. Just a few little boats and it is all silted up, also a second class commercial area.
