how much?
« on: August 07, 2008, 03:58:03 pm »
One of my window cleaning jobs want their carpets cleaned. I'm not used to doing this as we generally only carpet clean in communal stairs/landings, which is usually just a cord carpet that needs a freshen up.
The carpet is nothing special, just normal short pile, but there is 378 m2 of it including stairs and offices.
its not too dirty but their are a few little marks that they are aware may not come out.
using a Prochem extraction machine Trafficlean pre spray and Release. (by premiere Products).
Cheers in advance.

Sorry.
West End London, price per m2 will do, or just how long it will take including moving of a bit of furniture.

AJ only you have seen the job so anyone else would be guessing.I would say work out how long it will take you then quote at say 50 squid an hour.If you have alot to move get a little helper that will help with the flow of the job.Gotta be min 2 to 250 though.Regards Alan(swindon)

Thanks edge.
How long it will take is what I'm having trouble with. When we do the stairways we're in and out in a couple hours, but this is a bit different to the norm for us.

Hi AJ, Just go for it, then next time you will have a better idea.
I`m still learning that one on the big jobs, but I`m never far out.
Good Luck,

No, just standard carpet with a bit of pile to it, like bedroom carpet.
There are 70 steps in all (1.2 wide) , the rest is office space

£1.60/m2

£600 for the job, two people half a day with a decent machine.

Quantify expectations, if they have wheeled swivel chairs on low profile then those areas will not fully recover with cleaning.

If you already work for them they are more likely to take your quote over anyone elses even if you are a bit more expensive.

Some people do these for 70p/m, others quote up to £3

Think the stairs will take you maybe 2 and half hours to 3 even as you will slow down as the job goes on.

Do the stairs have a lip as well that needs wiping..
