i am thinking of putting an ad in my local paper,do any of you know if this kind of thing brings any success?

Yes it can bring in some work, but i have found it all depends on what type of advert it is ie what wording you have on it, does it stand out. Also the work can be spread out over a lrg area, but i have found overtime you pick more up in them areas.

Ive just renewed a local post office advert for the following year.

Ive got seven days of work in the village and I gets lots of work, more and more every time I go.

The 26 quid its cost me is worth every penny as a point of contact that the whole village knows.

I get more work from this than from anything else

I suggest that if you live in a city then go for a really local (e.g free community) paper for a particular suburb, village or small town.

Cards in Post offices or local shops work too.

NO CARDS WORK IN P /OFFICES,PAID MY TAX DISC 3 MONTHS AGO,JUST HAD A LETTER FROM SWANSEA MY TAX DISC IS OUT OF DATE BY 3 MONTHS ,GO TO  JAIL,DO NOT COLLECT £200 IF YOU PASS GO. SO ME BEING HONEST SENT THEM A SCANED COLOURED PHOTO COPY OF MY ROAD TAX DISC,WHICH THEY WROTE BACK SAYING ITS AN OFFENCE TO PHOTO COPY A ROAD FUND LICENCE. WHEN A PUSH CAME TO A SHOVE THE CARD DOWN THE P/O GAVE ME THE WRONG DOCS,HE CHECKED THEM STAMPED THEM AND PRODUCED A LICENCE,GOD KNOWS WHAT THE CARD HAD DONE.iM NOW IN TERROR CUS I COULD HAVE SIGNED FOR DOUBLE GLAZING CUS iAINT GOT NO RD TAX RE swansea
