What is the spec difference between the 2?  Is there any difference in heat n vac?

Richie.

You'd need to ask Glynn because he's the only person I know that has both.

I think there's a big difference in price but I'd guess if it's for dual wanding spend on the larger machine.

It's the same blower Richie but on the 427 it's direct drive so that should make it more efficient, I read somewhere a belt drive can take up to 10%. HM's own figures suggest the heat is better on the max but whether it makes any operational difference I'm not sure, my own 427 certainly doensn't  lack heat, I sometimes worry I'm using too much, I've already realised my inline sprayer doesn't work at the high temperatures the machine is capable of

The Boxxer 427 does provide plenty of heat, right up to over 240 and holds it well.
The Maxx470 will heat to 250 and keep up a minimum of 235 even with large jetted tools and in twin mode or RDM's etc.
And the heat sensor to the gauge on Hydramaster machines in placed right on the exit manifold and Not nearer to the heat exchangers as most other manufacturers do giving a false impression of water being hotter than it actually is.
Both have the same blower although I think the Maxx is plumbed different and provides more airflow.
The Maxx has a catalyitic heat exchange system with an air pump afterburner where as the Boxxer doesn't.
The Maxx has a Cat pump where as the Boxxer as a cheaper one, although I believe it is as good as a Cat.
The Maxx has electronic engine control and this also does away with the traditional throttle.

They are both excellent machines and they both provide fantastic heat and vacuum, even at hose lengths in excess of 700ft.
These are the reasons I have both units, the Titan I will let you know more about when it comes, but upon using Simon's Titan, the power/heat/vac etc and the sheer quietness of it is amazing.

Glynn
