Cat pee on my mattress
« on: June 29, 2008, 06:25:31 pm »
Oh dear. Got home from weekend away to discover the cat has done this. Not talking a little spot either, a real swamp out! A good square metre has been covered and it could have been in there for 24 hours.

Obviously just chucking it is an option, but I may as well give it a try with hwe. I have a speedster, wonderwand, stair wand and hand tools, plus prochem chems and spoting kit.

Any ideas on what to use / how to go about it? I've not done a matress before.

Cheers

Give it a good soaking in urine neutraliser followed by the same with clensan then HWE with a hand tool. It will take quite a while to dry, won't get rid of the stain but it should deal with the smell and certainly any bacteria

I've  a Speester and it would still go straight in the skip. (the mattress, not the speedster or the cat) ;D

Mike gives the best advice mate skip it.
You will struggle to get rid of the smell especially if its a Tom cat.

About four months ago everyone on here started to get their pics posted. I thought I'd just put that one on and see how long it took for someone to ask me why. You're the first!

No reason really.

Well, I'll give it a go as described and then skip it if there still a stink.

I'd happily skip the little b*stard too - mattresses aint cheap!
