Sebo BS36/Karcher CW50 Brush motor
« on: June 11, 2008, 11:36:14 am »
The brush motor has stopped working on my Karcher CW50,which I believe is identical to the Sebo BS36 (it uses same bags) and looks pretty much the same.
The drive belt to the brush roller is fine,so problem seems to be with brush motor itself.
Is it an easy task to replace the motor and are they very expensive?
It has been a great vac cleaner and seems a shame to lose it.
Any advice appreciated-
John

John
Are you sure it's the motor?
On my Sebo there's a DC converter circuit board which I've had to replace in the past.
Have a look to see if it's burnt out first.
Cheers

I have the CW50 and understand it to be a Sebo made under licence (but would stand corrected).

Actually I have an Sebo Felix for home use and its brush motor has just stopped working.
I did get in to the brush area quiet easily and had the motor in my hand.

Need to know how to test it now. Any help?

There is also a little circuit board in the Felx as well.

Joe, its more likely to be something to do with the switch on the powerhead or the hose not slotted back in enough as it cuts the brush when you pull it out for edging etc.

Mike you were dead right

Not pushed the hose down far enough in its seating.

Thanks

Is it easy to remove the motor on these as I cannot see anything else wrong.-John

Check the wiring as sometimes where they have been pushed into slots in the casing it can break internally.

Update-
there is a microswitch which trips when you insert the wand, and after flicking this a few times with my finger all is well again.-John
