« on: May 02, 2008, 06:33:59 pm »
hi all,
i went to quote a building today that has a long run of glazing in the roof, top third tile, bottom 2 thirds glass, which has got alot of runs coming down from the lead flashing.
my question is, will the stains come off wfp alone, or using tfr or very doubtfull at all.
 thanks steven

Steven,

If it is lead stains WFP alone wont get rid of them but it will fade them, I use Winsol 550 to get rid of them - if your gonna do the same make sure you charge it as a seperate service.

Lead stains will come off with WFP but will take a lot of scrubbing.
Comes off easier with hot WFP but the lead flashing stains will reappear by the next wash (more so if it's been raining a lot since the last clean.
There are products that can be applied to lead flashing to stop the run marks, all they do is slow down the stain runs, they still leave run marks. Price extra (I would say 2-3 times minimal) for the extra scrubbing of windows to allow for lead flash runs onto windows as it's time consuming.
