anyone use a roman int. pump box? some questions

ran out of water this morning   misjudged the amount in my main tank at home

ive got an intrigated pump box ive never used
im a bit confused about how to plumb it to the RO
the instruction manual says i need to connect it to a float valve  is that correct?
any advice appreciated

booster might be the modern term for it
pushes water through the system at higher pressure
mine is old style box type
