BackPacks,,,Issue Continued
« on: January 15, 2005, 11:51:11 am »
As a continuation in general I`ll try answer everyone  best I can.Jeff,my view is that there won`t be
enough room around a persons waist for pumps, batteries etc.You would be getting the weight in one
condensed area again. It needs spreading around  as much as is possible. It will be good when you can
get your own `pics` of your carry frame down too, once again I recon it needs keeping as simple and
as lightweight as possible, yet sturdy to allow for the real weight which is the water.Matt, there will come
a time when ( Iknow of a leading manufactuer who is just waiting) for a claim for back damage caused
thru` perhaps oaky, misuse of such a weighty implement on your back.( Daniel carrying up to 18 liters
makes me feel ill just thinking about it ) Jeff,I`ve made one or two improvments. The loops on the Ergo-
tech belt allow for carrying a squeegee for finishing off downstairs windows if ya want to do it that way.
Also theres room for reciept books and pens for someone like Ian Giles who does his shops with pure water. The `Dalesman` water containers can be obtained at The Camping Outdoor Centre ( Halifax ) Ltd.

As the water containers seem to be as if they were made for the Unger Ergo-Tech pouches Graham Heaton mobile number is 07793 720373. Shop No. 01422 203491.

Lewis, you use a smaller pump than me, can't you use a smaller pump box?  If you did you could move the water a little to each side and put the pump box on the belt in the middle of the water.  Then you could attach shoulder straps to the belt for better weight distribution.

I would also be looking to get dirt cheap water containers like the type you get windscreen chemicals and such like in.  I would then fill as many of these as needed to save having to pour water, just slide full ones in instead of pouring.

I can see where `your coming from` Peter.and also I`d thought about all what you`ve outlined.
I`d thought some time ago about having 1 liter containers all around your waist in `bucket-in-
belt` holders or similer. On the pump issue, there`s also don`t forget the battery power source with
the remote control.A local battery supply firm has upgraded me to fit a battery into the Pro-User
casing ( now obsolete ) and it seems to last ages before needing to be recharged. Also this back pack
set-up is part of my trolley system which is ya could say  is a `4 in model`. For instance, yesterday I
was working on biggish commercial stuff so I used it in its trolley `mode`.( 75 liters ). Last Thursday
it was in its back pack `mode`. On Monday it will be a combination of both depending upon size of
job etc. If anything goes wrong with the Pro-User battery housing my whole system is `up the creek`
and I don`t know what I`ll do,but I`ll `cross that bridge` when I get to it.Fingers crossed,but everything
right now is oaky. With a pump box that hooks on ( like yours on your trolley ) it takes 5 minutes to
convert to a `route` cart like Marcus Mckee uses in shopping malls with added  `Ettore sidekicks for
housing  towels, squeegees or whatever ya want. Its not a gadjet or a gizzmo,it is very practicle and saves
loads of reaching and bending etc.Lowered down it takes your `LedgerMates` a treat.
