Wrong Jobs
« on: January 14, 2005, 07:05:58 pm »
I went to one a few weeks back....the number was right...so I carried on, went round the back to have a look...ok, seemed fine....and went back to the front to get the gear out. It was just then that an irate pensioner wandered back from over the road (with shopping)..shrieking and howling about an intruder......me confused, checking the address......and starting the van up. Looking in my mirror...she was desperately trying to memorise the number plate...
How embarrasing was that..... :o
(I did eventually find the right customer....sometimes it's hard when it's just a name on a list.....from the man above)

Check out the More Funny Stories thread - first one - that was a "wrong job"
It's a game of three halves!

I've only had one 'wrong customer job'.

We turned up at the house and as the arrrangement was to 'just do it' and put a self addressed envelope through the door so as a cheque could be sent , we did all the windows which were really filthy and the frames to.

After we finished the owner came out and asked us why we'd cleaned his windows.

We had the wrong street. He said it happens all the time with the post. His road was William Road and the road we wanted was Willams Road. Willam Road runs into William Road with no clear indication that it does so.

The owner decided to let us finish before saying anything as he'd guess we had the wrong address.
