Hi Guys & (Gals), been looking at this site for a couple of weeks and have to say I am impressed how everyone seems to help eachother out.  Quite refreshing in this "dog eat dog" world.  I live in Vancouver Canada and am just about to start my own w/c business.  Did a bit of it when I was studying in the USA some 20 years ago.  Spoke to a friend of mine in Florida who started a round when he left the same colledge as me.  He now has 45 guys working for him with an annual turnover of $2.5 million-sounds like he made a sound decision.  I entered the world of computers 20 years ago and hope to leave it in January.  I'm fae Scotland and enjoying the warm weather here.  Got my cards and flyers ready to go.  Going rate here seems to be $1.75 (CAD) per window.  Another friend in Las Vegas goes for $40 an hour.  Great site looking forward to letting you all know how I get on. ;D

Hello Real Clean Guy and welcome to the Forum!

Its very nice to have someone contriibut from outside the UK, how window cleaning businesses are run in other countries makes for an interesting comparison.

Very different from Toronto here.  Brilliant sunshine here today, people with the roofs down on their convertibles.  So hope I can wash windows here all year round.  Does rain here quite a bit, but your supposed to get all the seanson, if you come from Scotland it can only be an improvement!! ;D

As long as you don't get down to seattle, there are only 10 dry days in a year! -  Eh (added just for you).

Only ever spent one day in Seattle, and I have never seen rain like it even in Scotland.  How they make a living at w/c I do not know. 8)

Gaza no cheap holidays here, British Columbia (BC) stands for bring cash!!  It's OK when you first come over with ALL your sterling everything seems a good deal, then once you have bought a house, car, fed the kids and the dog etc, etc. you realise that your back to using canadian $'s and everythng comes into perspective :o  The quality of life and opportunities are great for the family though, our kids actually love going to school :o.  People are on the whole friendlier and willing to help.  They love the Scottish accent, so I will be canvessing putting on my Billy Connely accent, without the f44ing and blinding off course.  Have a great holiday to all on this forum. 8)
Will be starting out using the traditional methods, but will no doubt move to a wfp as my intention is not to be on ladders.  Still cannot get my head around having to take all that water around with you??  I have a mini van with 7 seats removable, so I figure I would need a truck or transit type van??
