Cleaning Top Windows
« on: March 14, 2008, 10:20:37 pm »
Hi can anyone advise me?

Just started a window cleaning round, so still pretty new to the game!  Top windows that are unreachable with a ladder, when using a telescopic pole, can anyone advise me on the technique in order to stop the windows streaking and leaving water marks!  Finding it quite difficult to clean these problem windows properley!

Thanks everyone,

I would use 2 poles,1 with a vice versa on and the other with a dry microfiber attatched by using an unger fixy clamp for detailing the top of the window.

Trad pole work at height is the black belt of window cleaning. It takes a lot of practice!

I'd always recommend GG3 or GG4 as it streaks less, a soft squeegee rubber, dog eared channel, and Microfibres instead of scrims.

Some ppl swear by swivels for that kind of work,.. but a swivel has a learning curve all of its own, so maybe just try one thing at a time!

Practice, Practice and practice some more.

It not easy doing pole work at height all i can say is make sure you wet the windows well otherwise it will be dry before you finished with poor results and keep away from the edges slightly.

I know when you are new you want to grab any work available but using a standard pole at height can be a knightmare in the summer.

Good luck
