Pressure washing/wfp
« on: March 09, 2008, 08:31:18 am »
You guys with the jet washers, is it easier to jet the outside of the gutters and under the soffits and the facias, or is it easier to wfp it? I'm thinking that a pressure washing lance might be heavy and you might be fighting against the pressure? Can your pressure washers be lifted in and out of a van or trailer by one person? Could a long length of high pressure hose be run up the outside of say a superlight pole? Lots of questions i know but just thinking of the possibility of using my trailer thats redundant in my garage. I've done loads of gutter washing with my wfp - it's pretty hard work especially trying to brush out the gutter clips and of course there is no way of cleaning inside the gutters.
So a few more questions i'm afraid - what's an ideal petrol washer (lightness and performance and reliability) and what other bits are needed?
I know Jeff1 does a bit of this.

have purchased a pressure washer recently and i think to do fascias is still better wfp .i have a extension pole for my pressure washer and its not too heavy but up by the windows i think is too risky and the wfp is just as quick.

Interesting, i thought it would whip over it. Can you use an extended pipe from the trigger up any pole to a tool on the top? Lots of us already have poles for windowcleaning can they be adapted do you think? I can see an angle adapter could be used to change the angle of the pipe with a nozzle on the end perhaps. Just can't visulise it yet. It would be a cheap way to blast a gutter clear using customers water. There is a post on here for a DIY gutter sucker so a DIY pressure washing attatchment should be easy i would think. Use the customers tap water, run a hose up the pole and off you go?

i have pressure washed fascias lots of times. It does a very good job, but you do need to loosen the dirt with a brush sometimes, i use both wfp and pressure washer using a long telescopic lance for the pressure washer. Does a great job

have used theextension lance for gutters and it wasgreat . the only downside is you then have to wash the fasciasaswell , windows etc.is a mucky way of doing it but if it was the only option , no problem. as forconverting a wfp pole the pressure would probably be too much for the pole .the diy vac seems the best option.
