Help, need new battery & booster pump asap
« on: February 21, 2008, 01:27:28 am »
Hi, I've a 650 tank with RO.

I'm in a bit of a panic here  ??? My water pressure is usually crap but now it's super-crap, 20 psi & my tank isn't filling quick enough. My leisure battery is now powering the solenoid to fill my tank (overnight) but my tank should be full & the battery charging.

For a start I need to buy a backup battery 1st thing tomorrow & charge it, (I'll use my existing battery in the morning while it lasts) can I just buy a normal car or van battery from a local auto place?? I can't see a reason why a normal battery wont work or am I missing something & I really do need a leisure battery?

Secondly, can anyone recommend a decent booster pump online ? I need to order one yesterday.  :'(

A car battery will work ., it  doesn't take the constant draining and recharging as well as a deep cell battrey but will do the job in an emergency

A deep cell battery eh? I'll ask for one of them, would any standard battery for caravans etc do the trick do you reckon.
I want a backup battery anyway so I'd rather fork out for a proper one, deep cycle as you say.
The battery I got for my van has no holes for topping it up with water, would that be deep cycle maybe?

Cheers blue  ;)

Leisure = deep cycle designed for long time low output.
Car/Van = designed for heavy output on staarting an engine.

You want leisure really.
It's a game of three halves!
