What Carpet Protector ?
« on: February 12, 2008, 09:13:01 am »
Hi all,

I have used 'Fluoroseal' by Prochem so far, but I just wondered if anyone has suggestions of other suitable products that have been succesful.

It will be going on 100% untreated Wool carpets if that helps.

There are cheaper options out there but out of the 3 I've tried (3M, Fluroseal and Chemspec's) Fluorseal is my fave

In what ways have they not worked?
What has not happened that you were expecting to happen?

I use Prochem's Floroseal.

Had lots of positive feedback from clients who have spilt things and managed to remove the mark without calling me in.

I guess a lot of the time it may come down to how well it is applied. I'm assuming there are right and wrong ways.

The main thing I concentrate on is ensuring that doorways and in front of sofas get a good blast and also around dining tables.

Thanks for the replies.

Joe, I did see the delete button, but when I tried it it said it wasn't allowed for some reason.

I have used Fluoroseal and haven't had to go back so far, although I do make a point of saying it is a 'carpet protector' and cannot be guaranteed to protect against all stains  :o
I also advise that it doesn't last forever and high traffic areas will be affected first  ::) :P.
I only need to tell them that it doesn't work at all and I think I'll have covered myself completely  :o ;D

Looks like I'll be using it on this job too.

Thank you.

You do need a good sense of humour to be in business these days.....

Especially with some of the customers I seem to get  :o

Nice job yesterday. Went to clean a bed and mattress that the customer was 'giving'  :) to a good friend.

I wonder if she told the 'friend' that the bed had been used by her elderly father who had an addiction to 'LAXATIVES'  :-\ :P and that he had passed away in it on Christmas day  :-[

I've been to the house before when the laxatives worked faster than he could get to the bathroom  :-\
Well you can guess the rest !

I did what I could with the mattress but to be honest I've seen less Urine stains on a street alcholics underpants, (that's not entirely true by the way).

I didn't bother to ask if she wanted me to apply stain protector  :( :P

Under the circumstances I thought she might not appreciate it too much  ;)
