varistream warranty?

Bought a nice digital one with pump and notice that you get no manufacturers guarantee if you use hose less than half inch diameter. >:( >:(

Never had a disclaimer with my last one, so obviously they are having too many claims from all of us with minibore and microbore - can't cope with the pressure. I think they are going to lose sales over this!

IMPORTANT NOTICE
It has come to our attention that some customers are changing the normal 1/2" flexible hose into smaller diameter hoses aka 'microbore tubing' to be used between the pump and the brush. You should be aware that the varistream and pump connection operates best with 1/2" id flexible hose and that the use of smaller bore tubing and longer lengths of tubing results in greatly increased system pressures which may damage the pump & varistream and will result in the higher pressures within the pump system which will be detrimental to the operation of the products. Our guarantee will not cover any damage that results from this. ::)

how would they know?

anyhow all poles come with microbore tubing or less (6mm or 5mm) pole tubing so in effect everyone is using microbore.

So there you have it guys, As so many of us use micro bore, The Varistream is not fit for purpose.
Is the Ecoflow device suitable for microbore?
I was going to buy one of the new digital Varistreams, I guess I'll wait until some enterprising manufacturer can produce a device that's designed for the job.
As the old Varistream has coped very well for the last 30 months, is it just the new one that's causing problems? Dai

Ive allways recomended Varistreams and would not be without one.

But if they were designed to control the flow in 15mm hose then you chose to use smaller bore, you would be using the product for somthing it was not designed to do.

Pherhaps problems have come to light because of smaller bore, most companys then would make usage clear to avoid miss use.

But Williamsons seam to be very good and proberbly will make modifications to future designs to suit the needs of the market.

Luke, I know it does, I have been using micro bore with the mark 2 Varistream since July 2005, and the manufacturers know only too well from reading this forum, that most of us are using either micro or mini bore.
Why has it taken until now for them to say that using micro bore invalidates any guarantee.
The varistream has been marketed as the complete answer to flow control, and to be fair it's a great product, but micro bore has been around for the same length of time. why the hell has it taken until now for them to invalidate the guarantee.
It seems to me that any problem with micro bore and varisteam was unforeseen, and now this problem is surfacing, it's our fault for using micro bore.
Again to be fair to Williamsons, a 100 meters of micro bore coiled tight on a reel does cause a hell of a lot of flow resistance, maybe the answer is to only use micro for the last 25 to 30 meters, this would leave enough micro to get round most backs, you would still get the benefit of kink free hose where you needed it most.
