Harnesses, ropes and karabiners
« on: January 15, 2008, 08:25:21 am »
Morning chaps!!

We've just taken on a large 90 room hotel which is on 5 floors and there is a nut in the corner of each room for us to attach a rope/karabiner  to from a harness. We don't climb out of the windows cause they literally open in on themselves but from a safety point we will be using a harness and tied rope.

Does anyone know where we can get these from ??

Nottinghamshire based.

Try a search online, I went local for my harnesses, also ask the manufacture, also make sure your harnesses are certified

I Climb... have done for 25 years.

Troll in yorkshire do industrial   access and climbing kit .

Or you could try http://www.outside.co.uk/

You'll need static rope around 11mm ish , if you hanging on a rope for a while then you may want to look at a full body harness.

It would be wise to do a rope access course.... cos if you get it wrong, then your brown bread!!

Edmund Hillary won't be needing his kit any more - why not get in touch with his wife? I bet there's loads of stuff clogging up their attic.
