Sorry all, seems I have caused a stir, its just I have had it with this WFP v Ladders and I have now been set to coventry by most if not all ladder window cleaners local to me, all because I have showen initiative and better myself and invested in a WFP

Maybe it's because YOU have said BAN LADDERS?
Don't you think your local Ladder guys might find that a bit aggressive?

On the other hand, trad folks do tend to be a bit aggressive towards us WFP folks.
I think it's a bit of jealousy :o.....
Like I was 3 years ago when I first came on here ::)  And our old mate Squeeky ;D.
I couldn't see the point of spending £1000's on equipment (I couldn't afford it ???).  But I was envious the WFP folks didn't lug around a ladder all day >:(

David
butt on the pole hurts  ;) I dont do aggressive, if provoked thats there look out I am normally a very nice guy.

Pot,
I said POTTY because with a statement like that you were setting yourself up for a fall ( ladders or not ).
It's great you have set up your round without the use of ladders, alot of guys still need them for access and some use trad and wfp like myself.
Everyone has a choice, it's not just a your way or the highway situation.
This topic has been going since before 2005 when the working at height regs came into force. WFP guys were convinced that come april 05 ladders would be no more, how wrong were they.
When I use wfp local trad guys are interested in the method of cleaning and not slag me off, then again we all get on well together with never any probs even helping each other out at times.
Godd luck and regards
Adam. ( 20 years in business)  ;)

My old Dad used to say "If you want to find the easiest way to do a job give it to the laziest bloke"

The fact that I am a WFP window cleaner is because I am that laziest bloke. I had my doubts about WFP before I started and to be honest I still have them now to some extent.
Five years ago I was debating on here about cleaning window with "a bog brush on a broom handle"
But I recognised that WFP is superior to trad from a business point of view because it quicker and requires less effort on the part of the operator.

Yes I still get problems with occasional spots and runs but my customers pay me and are generally satisfied with the results and I go home with more money in my pocket.
 ;)

Vince,
I think you took my post the wrong way, I am not slating WFP at all, I love it and use it.
I was just stating that ladders still need to be available on certain propertys.
I just think that this post could go down the road of wfp v's trad again and this has been done over and over again.

Yes Adam
I still have to use my ladders most days as well. My point is I am motivated by money v  effort and little else.
If Harry Potter could lend me his magic wand I would use that.

I don't care if they ban ladders and I don't care if they don't. Nobody will enforce it anyway. If you are to survive in business you have to deal yourself the best hand you can, its as simple as that.
