hi there i am in a contract at the minute which the company signed for a year now they are wanting new cleaners if they can get them any cheaper all due to cut backs where do i stand

That would really depend on what your contract states.  They usually require a notice period, and some start a new year as soon as they end.  You could always negotiate the price and  rework the contract if the money is seriously the only issue.
