A note from a customer!
« on: November 26, 2007, 06:30:13 pm »
Steve, a "just in case" bag! >:(

This was the note I found on a garden bench today along with a polythene bag!

A bit of history ....

I have cleaned for this customer for over 12 months.  They used to have a dog and always kept their garden free from mess.  (I phone them the night before the clean is due so they always know when I'm due to arrive).  The dog died and they got a puppy.   2 cleans ago the garden was a mess and I left a polite note asking them to keep the working area clear.  The customer was full of apologies and the area was clean on my last visit.

I arrived today and the area was clean but the above note and the bag were placed on the garden bench. :o

I saw red! >:(  I know she would not knowingly leave a mess but does she seriously expect me to pick anything up that she misses?

I hope shes having a laugh  ;D

Rather OTT IMO.

Why dont you squeeze one out yourself into it and leave it on the bench, with a note asking her to dispose of it accordingly?

Yes yes I know, immature........

Sorry, had a car accident today whilst at work.....ho hum..

A bit unusual, but I guess she was trying to be helpful.

Matt - I hope you are ok.

Thanks guys.

Yea I am fine actually, the other guys car is a write-off, I got away with a smashed indicator lens, cost £5.00 to replace from a breaker.

I couldnt believe the difference in the amount of damage between the other guys car and mine.

Sorry, didnt mean to hijack the thread, bit shaken but no damage ta.

If you were my w/c and you left me a note telling me to keep the work area clear I would not be leaving you a little bag with a note in it I would be busy getting another w/c.

Animal faeces is a serious health hazard!

Too right, asking them to keep the work area clean. I wouldn't want their custom if they didn't do anything about it.

Some years ago the media reported on a case of a young girl playing in a sand pit that a cat had defecated in. She picked up a nasty virus from the cat litter and it killed her.

Last week the only time I got my ladder off the car I got dog muck on my shoes and all up the ladder and on my trousers. I put my ladder back on the car, then it rained and it all washed off over the car. left me and the car smelling lovely. Who needs that for the sake of a custy who can't be bothered to clear up after a pet. Not me!

You are right about being a health hazard. I remember reading about that little girl - tragic.

Last week I managed to step in something a cat had left behind. Luckily I realised before walking it up the ladder. Always keep some wipes in my car now to clean up.

Mrs scrim

I did a similar thing when I quoted a customer last year.  Walked around their back garden looking up at the windows then went into their kitchen to write the quote up - a lovely mess!

Going back to my original post - I received a cheque from the customer today (not bad considering I only cleaned her windows yesterday) with a note, "Many thanks Steve - so lovely to lose the dirty paw prints".

Well at least she's happy!

Do what I do - you get their s**t on your boots, scrape it off on their front step - they get the message and they're too embarrassed to say anything, if they cancel they weren't worth keeping anyway.
