What's a reasonable percentage to rent out a quality domestic round?. I don't want to sell it. I could provide all the kit (wfp). It's a well structured, well priced round. £150 a day, once up to speed is doable.

A friend of mine rents out LOADS of his domestic work.

The person who works it uses their own transport and equipment, does all their own paperwork etc... So that my friend doesn't have to worry about it.

He charges 20% of the rounds value.

So... Say he rented out £1000 per month work to me I would have to pay him £200 per month regardless of how much of that work I got accomplished in that month.

i used to rent out a little of my work on a new estate, they used to be 8 - 9 quid a house and he would pay me £1 a house, it didnt make me rich BUT helped me keep upto date

25% of what the round takes is reasonable. However if your providing all the equipment id charge him 30%. But be waned I had a friend  who rented a round out took 2k every 4 weeks to a so called mate. This mate started getting lazy and not turning in and before he knew it customers were cancelling their windows as they'd got sum1 more reliable! He lost loadsa work through renting it out!

How do you make sure it stays your round? After all the customer will be seeing Joe Renter cleaning their window and will assume he owns the round. They may not want you back in 6 months if you decide to sack the renter.

Also, what happens with referals and new jobs he picks up in the middle of your jobs?

Any work that joe renter picks up is his work. Thats how he builds his round up and profits. By letting him do this and increase his income he'll be happy paying rent. Eventually when he has enough of his own work he either gives the rented work back or buys it
