cleaning communal area safety flooring
« on: November 04, 2007, 02:01:53 pm »
I`m cleaning a communal area safety flooring in a block of flats, but am not happy with the results. The flooring is like vinyl sandpaper, and cleans well with a rotowash, but mop and bucket are dissapointing. I don`t want to have to use the rotowash every week.any help please

Altro and other forms of safety flooring need to be cleaned properly in order to maintain their anti-slip properties and look half decent, this of course means using the correct chems and equipment, which you, as the contractor, should charge for.

You are not happy totally irrelevant!

Persuade your client to having it sealed!

Tried again today and much better. I dried the floor with a towel wrapped in a mop and no surface dirt. Don`t know if client would extend to sealing floor!!!

Altro are in Letchworth, Herts.

They have a brilliant and friendly tech dept, they will send you a litre of their floor cleaning product (I think for free) and a sheet and cleaning instructions on what to use and how on their floors.

Do not go to the factory as they dont have a shop there. Post only.

As far as I know or remember they DO NOT recommend sealing it.
