Y piece tubing (Alex)
« on: October 25, 2007, 10:24:24 pm »
Because i use a swivel, my tubing comes off my 'y' connector sometimes on the brush head (and the tube is getting stiff) What diameter tubing is it - 3.8mm? Could i use a more flexible/stretchy silicone hose?

Hi Dave,

You could use silicone hose. The hose needs to be 5-6mm ID.

For the moment what you could do is to pull a little more through the pole, cut off the last few inches. Slightly heat the hose in hot water and push it on fully to the end of the 'Y' piece. Then use either a small Jubilee clip or an 'O' clip to fix it on (make sure that you slide this onto the hose before fitting to the 'Y' piece).  That should take care of the situation.

Thanks Alex but it was the smaller dia. tubing to the brush i'm after. I picked up some 1/8" washer hose but it's a bit small for the y piece. I also have some 4mm tubing from B&Q but that's too big for the brass jets and comes off. Your origional tubing was great but has become a little stiff.

I will pop some new stuff in the post for you. Also I will put a length of 3mm ID Silicone hose for you to try out.
