amtico

I have just got some regular work doing a bathroom shop which is fitted out with amtico flooring.
The customer wants regular cleaning of the floor, but would initially like it stripping and sealing.
What is the best way to tackle this and what equipment do I need?
Regards, Mike

Hi

strip it the same way as a normal vinly = Stripper- Green or Black pad- Thorough rinse with wet pick up - more clean water and mopping some would  say use a little acid neutraliser , frankly little white vinegar will do just to neutralise the alkalinity of the stripper although a few self neutralise - reapply couple coats depending on wear and desired finish , allow 24 hrs before buffing to desired finish high gloss use ultra high speed to finish, if not a standard high speed machine will do. but not slow speed ie, 155 or 175 they are to slow really.

as long as it is not strartica

you can seal it with eternum

Hi,
I don't normally seal amtico.I know it can be done but does mean higher maintenance costs. Amtico has an inbuilt clear surface so sealing is not necessary and as good a shine will be obtained with a high speed buffer with no seal. It also makes it easier to keep corners and edges clean,

Ron

Johnson wax used to make the seal and bottle it for Amtico (carefree emulsion) but if you use spray clean with Carefree Gloss restorer with a high speed machine and red or white pad this will clean and give a good gloss and maintain the slip reistance required.

has anyone tried the twister pads that have been advertised lately are they any good  and can they be used on amtico or vinal floors, with these it says you never need to use polish and i was wondering if they worked.
