Just had yell.com on the phone wanting me to put a more detailed advert on their site , they wanted just over £200 for the first year .has anyone advertised with them and did you get any responce?  cheers Dave ???

just go for the free listing.

I've had loads of work come just through the free listing. Saying that though, there aren't many window cleaners listed in my area!

have never advertised with them, £200 a year seems a little steep for just going on their site I'm less than a 1/4 of that  ;)

i was in the yellow pages and yell .com this year cost 1100 pounds add sizes was about the sizes of a match box  , not enough work has come from it
sales have been on phone for next year , told them not happy with cost for advertising with them , offering me for next year 750 pounds to advertise with them

do you have a website ? as an add in the book with a website address is a good way market yourself as you can have a smaller add and the website will open it up to all the details you want people to know.
do yellow pages still have the books?

can I ask why you do not have a website yet you spend several hundreds of pounds on an advert? I am not being funny in anyway I am just a little shocked thats all

do you still have to have a landline to have a ad in yellow pages ?? ? ?? as a few years back i was told i couldnt have a listing as i only use my mobile phone, afterall we are in the age of a mobile office these days

I dont think they have changed that, as You can get a mobile number for free and get as many listings on there as you want, I dont think they will ever change that, think the only way you can get in the book with a mobile is to pay them.
