help needed with microbore plz
« on: August 05, 2007, 11:40:32 am »
wonder if anyone would be so good as to have an answer for this problem,
bought a 100 m of 6mm microbore and connected it up to use then had no
water coming out from the pole  and yet when i put my normal 12mm hose back
on it was fine.

does this mean i need a more powerful pump to use the microbore?
any suggestions would be appreciated , thx jon

I use 100m of microbore and have never had any problems.

Remember that if it's new hose it will take a while to pump all the water the 100m's and fill it.

I know this may sound silly but check that there is no kinks in the hose and also that your battery is fully charged.

What kind/size of pump are you using?

I use a shurflo 100psi.

Hope that helps?

Matthew

Any varistream on your set up?
Is the pump actually running at all or did it shut straight off?
I'm thinking along the lines that the 6mm will have a higher resistance than the 12mm so the varistream/pressure switch just needs adjusting to compensate

A 60psi pump should run 100m of microbore perfectly well with no need of any flow control.

Have you tried connecting the reel of microbore up to a mains tap to check that  it is not faulty somewhere? Just once in blue moon you can come across a fault in manufacturing with any type of hose, you could have a physical blockage.

What make of pump is it? On most pumps you can adjust the pressure setting with a simple screw, this will allow you to fine tune the pump to the hose.

Just try adjusting the allen screw that's recessed into the black plastic top part of the inlet/outlet assembly till it works to your requirements

unravel your hose and try again getting rid of the air.... it should pump through.... then rewind leaving the hose full of water... i think it should be ok then.... it happened to me.
