Winters on the way up here!! What do you do to stop your water freezing on the windows? does it still freeze with WFP?

If it gets cold enough for water to freeze on windows you won't be cleaning windows. The usual problem is that water will be frozen in the hoses. When water freezes in filters it is likely to break them so take care to keep filter systems warm during cold snaps. Hot water systems are good to go even when its freezing, but carry some rock salt to put down on any pathways that may get wet.

Rain water wont freeze because if its raining it aint freezing!

Some of us work all the time! I start at 5 am and live in Leeds where it gets quite chilly, if I didnt work because it was to cold I,d never earn any money, for 18 years now I,v been useing a bit meths to spray on the windows but I wondered if there was some better system,

Meths Doesn't taste very nice though and always reminds me of being stabbed in the arm by some brutish nurse during my days at school

Hey, there is that other alcohol thingy that you are supposed to be able to put in the water when you are WFP-ing and it does not effect the finish when the water has dried out.

For the moment I cannot think what it is, I shall check other postings, and then post a question about obtaining it and the costs involved.

I'm waffling But I do that a lot

Learned last year using pole system to take pump and hose reel into the house on very cold nights , otherwise it would freeze up . First time it froze, didnt realise it and blew the fuse on the pump. Found when i did that didn`t have too many probs about water freezing on windows. good idea about taking bag(s) of rock salt for the public areas

The alchohol thingy is Isopropyl Alchohol from chemists or industrial suppliers, a capful per 5 litres or so.
