Pre filters carbon sediment etc

Does anyone know if they are universal and can be purchased from any good supplier?

They are universal and come in 2 main sizes. 10" for most small units and 20" for larger commercial units.

Dudek, alex is quite right in they come in standard sizes.  be aware though of the difference in quality.

For sediment I'd recommend Purtrex 5micron

For carbon I'd recommend EPM10 cartridges.

You can buy cheaper but the saving isn't much and you can always be sure of a quality filter

I would agree with JM123.  Buying good quality pre-filters is always worthwhile.  If possible, avoid anything that has come out of China as it will be a poor imitation of the American originals.

definitely - thats also very much applicable when buying membranes too.  A lot of the chinese stuff is short leaf and doesn't compare at all to the american stuff.

don`t forget to put them in the right way round...wound polyester first and then the carbon filter...each filter protects the next.
