Freedom RO & DI units
« on: June 01, 2007, 12:46:04 pm »
I would like some info on the effectiveness of the Freedom RO & DI units as I'm getting close to a decision on purchasing my equipment. I'm given to understand that they work very well but I would like to hear from anyone with actual experience using them.

Thanks in advance and any info would be appreciated

I started with a 200gpd from pure freedom, it does work well but after 3 months changed for a merlin as it produces pure water alot quick.
Also the freedom 200gdp I had produced a massive amount of waste water

Anyone with a 300gpd unit? And what about the DI unit? I live in very hard water area and I believe my water pressure to be very good.

I've got the 300 GPD one from Freedom.

I run it into a 1000ltr IBC tank and use a transfer pump to get the water to my van tank. I used to use my 40 inch on board RO which was fine but I hardly use any resin at all now. My waste to pure is around the same at 1 to 1 as well. Yes I know you can cut the waste to pure on the 40 but it b*ggers your membranes up if you do  :P   I know this because I did it  :-[

I use 4 to 500 ltrs per day and it more than keeps up with me.

Its a great unit and I cant fault it at all. You are on better water pressure than me as well so it will work even better for you.

Brightnclean,

What's your TDS and water pressure at the tap?

Mark

Water pressure is around 60 PSI.  TDS from tap 400 ish  .. 420 seems to be average and never more than 12 out of the RO. Usually 9 or 10.  I Hope this helps you.  :)
