Further to my post earlier in which Brightnclean responded, does anybody else use a Merlin unit, if so, would they recommend or would they agree with the earlier reply that they are cr*p.

I have a merlin,i think it is excellent,my tds going in is 424,tds out is 24, i run a booster pump with it at 80psi,i get 100litres of pure every 45 minutes,it averages about a 93-94% rejection rate, the one thing i would say,is make sure you get a flushing kit for it,just to keep the membranes flushed.I fill up my 1000litre holding tank every friday, job done, ready for the next week,no need to have my water going for 24hrs every day. Hope this is some help.

OK lets compare.

Merlin @ 80 PSI with a booster pump which probably cost around £180 just for the pump. 424 in and 24 out with a waste to pure of at best 3 to 1 so 4000 litres water used.

My 300 GPD RO.  420 ish in and at worst 12 out with a waste to pure ratio of 1 to 1. For a total price of £180 with no back flush kit needed.  I.m on around 60 PSI pressure as well. I just run it over the weekend to fill my 1000 ltr IBC and I am never short of water. Only 2000 ltrs water used as well.

As I said the Merlins' only real benefit is it is able to produce water quite fast but nowhere near as economically.
