Joining hoses
« on: March 22, 2007, 02:22:26 pm »
I found these sleeve inserts at Wickes yesterday and they are ideal for reducing 1/2 hose to microbore and vice versa in absence of the proper fittings, just place insert into microbore slip it into the 1/2 inch and the tighten hose clip.

 Are they 6mm/ 1/4 inch?
If so - just what I been looking for to connect pole hose into the compression joint on a 10mm gas valve for my poles!

David,
You can also pick up a 8mm gas valve at places like Screwfix if you want to go smaller, I just cut the ends off a 6mm "y" piece and push it into the hose so the gas valve olive has got something to clamp to.
