We clean for a company involved in food production. The owner never wants to spend money, particularly on cleaning
and has cut us down to only 2 visits of 2 hours per week. We only used to go in 3 times a week anyway.
The annoying part is that his 'Hygiene Assessor' who is freelance asked to speak to us about the poor standard of cleaning.
which we of course agreed to.
He was concerned about the lack of high level cleaning and dust on electric cabling that runs around the unit. Now we are always happy to take advice so I asked what he would reccomend as we can't just flick dust around near food........A DAMP CLOTH was his suggestion....on ELECTRIC cabling ! :
I'm glad I asked !
What he wasn't aware of was just how little time we were on site and said we needed to do more. (more Money, sounds good to me).
So was does the owner do ? reduce us to 4 hours per week and say " By the way, I notice the place is getting dusty again"
Not for the first time I have had to explain that we are only on site cleaning for 4 hours, and that's to do everything required. So the ladies may spend 20 seconds dusting a particular piece of equipment per visit , leaving 604,740 seconds per week when it is collecting dust.
I know it sounds a bit petty, but when you break it down in that way it's not surprising things get dusty.
Aaahh that's better now I've got it off my chest.
I'm sure we're not alone with this problem.
