Picture of my 4OOL Trailer
« on: January 19, 2007, 10:04:31 pm »
Been on this and Matt's site for about three months vacillating between different options. This trailer is not braked, it does have a jockey wheel, and I have sent away for some prop stands (legs) to stop it tipping back.400l is 400kg and I am hoping that I can manage it, and do not end up chasing it down a hill
In the end it was a bit much for me to decide, as I am not good at DIY, and do not understand everything about pure water. So phoned a supplier up who Matt recommended and let him tell me what I wanted and it was delivered the next day.The 400l tank fitted snugly with packing wood either side and a two by two bolted through the floor with five bolts to stop it coming back to where the pump box, leisure battery (Free), and DI sit. Also supplied was 100m of mini bore and reel, Unger tele pole plus with vikan, and a 3 by 3 for downstairs.

My RO which came at the same time only registered 3.5psi and trickled out, and I had to phone up for a booster pump which was sent the same day and was easy to fit. Now it's a gusher 15psi, 278ppm in, 0-1ppm out.

Gazah2o.It's a daxara 167 from indispension rated at 700kg. They are quite expensive, I bought it new in 2003 for something else, had my use out of it and then as my wife never liked it and it took up space I sold it to someone (workmate) for £250. He used it before christmass and made enough money with it to buy a big as new 4yr old merc van. He never got around to changing the number plates though and I had a couple of goes at him aboiut this as I've already got points on my licence.
Anyway, he sold it back to me after Christmass when he no longer needed it for £100, he was chuffed and I took it as a sign. He'd have only sold it to someone else to run about with my number plates anyway.

templar, out of interest whats that hozelock outlet for on the side of the tank in the second pic? I notice you have one on the cap, do you connect to that to fill rather than unscrew the cap? but whats the one on the side for? (too high to be an outlet to the pump)

Aaah yes cyberspace well spotted. I got it completely wrong and thought it was obvious that the top inlet port was where you filled it from. In fact the top one is a breather. You surmise correctly that the one on the side is the inlet, and on the inside of that is something very similar to what you have in the toilet cistern that stops the water from the RO when its full which in turn has kind of auto cut off thingy.

Also, I got all the RO feeds wrong as well, red is inlet, green is waste, blue is product, .....AND when you want to seperate them you do not pull as hard as you can (When you fit a booster pump say) you push a collar and then remove them. To refit you just push in.

Same as me! You won't go wrong with the 3x3. It's an excellent pole!
