What is a good vacuum ??
« on: January 18, 2007, 04:56:22 pm »
Just wondering if anyone knows of a quality tub type vacuum ?

At present we are using Henry hoover's but we feel that not only has the quality of the machines went down hill over the past few years but the results they provide  are not what they used to be.

These vacuums are to be used for weekly stairwell cleaning contracts in blocks of flats so weight and cable length does come into question when choosing a vacuum.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a vacuum that would suit better than the Henry ??

Regards

If you are doing lots of stairs i would suggest a backpack might be an idea.

Hi,
Try the RGK website they have an excellent choice of vacs. For stairwells I use a backpack they're light & the lead is more than long enough.

Cheers tony :)

DENIS RAWLINS sell a YES vacuum, which is water filtration type, so you really get 100% suction all of the time. I'ts a lot more expensive than the Henry, but in a different league.

Surprised at your comment regarding the Henry. Numatic rarely make things worse and usually constantly improve their range.
Biggest problem with vacuum cleaners is that people don't take care of the filters. This has a marked affect on the performance.

If a backpack is not suitable for you,you really won't do better than a Numatic.
One of our NVP370s has has been going strong for nearly 5 years, and we still use it for all the crappy jobs, you would not believe the abuse it has taken but it just won't give up.
If cable length is an issue it is easy to rewire with a longer cable if you know what you are doing,or get a sparkie to do it for you.-John

Try the hypervac backpack. It is light years ahead of the numatic backpack. V comfortable, more powefull and much more durable. We have run 5 of these machines for years cleaning stairs. Rewire with a 25m cable and you will never look back. Best price I have found is at www.barmey.com £149 inc vat

Cheers
