Vax machines - any good???
« on: January 12, 2007, 08:24:08 pm »
I only do office cleaning but I'm thinking of a vax machine (the traditional orange 6131 Type) just to do my own living room and maybe the odd small area if a client asks.
Just wondered if anyone knew if they did an okay job?

Thanks for any replies

These are not designed to be professional contracting machines (fair enough).  My experience is that, whilst OK for 'mopping up' in the home, the are very limited in their performance and in a commercial situation they won't produce a reliable, repeatable result.  However, let me emphasise, for the occasional HOME user with only a moderate amount of dirt to contend with, these machines satisfy their objectives.

Hi there

vax machine don't weaste your money and loose your reputation.
If you want something not to exspensive for small odd jobs
a prochem steameasy would be a good start. it looks alot more porfessional and will out preform a vax.

should be able to get one for about  £350 - £500.

Most spotting machines have more cleaning power, and the same size water tank as a vax ::) ;)

Hi Owen,

I have a small single vac machine for sale for £180.
It holds just over a bucket of water in both tanks ideal for small jobs and upholstery. Comes with hose and wand.

I'd suggest that one of the Numatics would  be a better bet for the money.
