as im new to the site new to w/c and not very experienced {i have been doing alot on weekends to get technique right everybody is very happy} looking to start full time ive worked out to make what i think is ok in the beginning i would probably have to do 12 to 16 pph on an 8 hr day only 20 days per month ........ how practible do you think that is possible or not ? dont want to leave us too short you see

Anything is possible but to earn that you will need the appropriate amount of customers and work at a regular speed.
Ive been going 6 months now and only now i can say that i have easilly earnt my days wage. THis is down to technique and how compact the work is. For example last month i had my best best ever day which was £155 and did 13 houses, but i do not earn this everyday, either because i have a little more driving to do or some of the work isnt as well priced as that day.

In the begining for me it was hard, some days i would only earn £60 and be out for 10 hours and thought how the hell was it going to work, but down to trying to get it compact as possible and 6 month experience it is finally comming together.
So i would say canvass canvass and canvass, it wont be easy to start with but to do it full time you will have to give it your FULL attention, probably not possible doing weekends only.

My average hourly rate is now between £16 and £20 which at the start i didnt think was possible but it is.
Oh and i am a traditional cleaner, laddes and a squeegie love um!!

Remember you probably will not work the full 20 days 8 hours a day either cause of weather, odd day off, not enough work etc etc at for the first few months while your building your customer base.

Make sure you get the prices right. It doesn't matter how many houses you clean it's the price.

I did a house today which took me just over an hour & get paid £60
The other day it took me 3 hours to earn that.

I still have work i underpriced when i started & am slowly getting rid of it if i can't get the price up.

The more your doing the job the quicker you will get. Just make sure you do a quality each time and you will start to get customers recommending you.

I'm wfp mate.

There are windows you just wouldn't be able to reach if using a ladder.
There's windows above a large conservatory and velux windows in the roof.

I started with ladders & used my car until i could get a van.

I was quite happy using ladders, but with the new regulations been talk about decided to look at wfp.

I basically started off with a backpack just to do the top windows, but after a few days started cleaning the whole house wfp as i found it quicker & the results better.

I got the backpack - 18ft pole - filter system - waterbutt - water containers for around £500.

I only have a small van but now have a 400L water tank - a trolley system fitted with a Shurflo 100psi pump & Varistream -1 x 4ft pole - 1 x 18ft pole - 1 x 20ft pole - 1 x 40ft pole and my squeegies etc.

In total, overtime, including the van i think i spent around £6000 - £7000.
In the results i have had with the increase in work was worth every penny.

I have everything i need to do the job.

I'm not one of these on here that slags off Trad or wfp. Each method is just another way/tool to help us do the job.
Obviously the wfp is a safer method which to me is very important.

If the new laws are enforced then wfp will be the only real method to use.

Start off with what you can afford and build yourself up.
You will also find if you like doing the job after a few weeks/months, and for a small layout for ladders and squeegies etc, it's not too much to lose if you find out you don't like it.

You can do a good or bad job using either methods, so really it's down to you to do the job properly.

Listen to what craig says, he has been their and done it.

It is very easy to read and think "ya, but he already has his round" but that certainly is not the case with him. 18 months ago just starting out with ladders and a squeegie, getting a trickle of customers, realising that there was a lot of window cleaners on his door step, another window cleaner trying to put him off, getting no answers to flyers, over the moon months later on 10 quid an hour, slowly investing in WFP and now you see he owns something that anyone would gladly purchase off him.

That is easily obtainable doing traditional.
You just need to price the jobs right.

How long it takes depends on how much effort you put in.
Like everything else you get out as much as you put in.
It could take 6 months or maybe even a year or two before you are earning good money.

As time goes on you will find yourself getting larger jobs a and more compact and the money you earn will go up even more.
But it does take time to build a profitable round.
