is my pump dying
« on: December 14, 2006, 02:21:09 pm »
my pump has stopped working. for a week or so jiggling the wires that lead to the pump has brought it to life. is it an easy job to get inside to tighten wires.

The switch has burnt out.

I take it you dont use a varistream flow controler.

You can buy a new switch or a varistream both will do the repair but the new switch will burn out again.

Do you have a filter before your pump as you may have some grit in it.

Part of the warranty of the pumps is that you must have a filter before the pump.

does it go on if you wiggle the wires or wiggle the pump?

because you may have an air block therfore it wont work

I had a problem where my pump stopped working.

About 9 - 12 inch from the pump the wire had a connection .

This connection had parted (loose wire) this could be your problem.

Sounds like you have a loose electrical connection, unscrew the cover on the pressure switch and tighten the push on spade connectors.

the switch is bypassed, its the wires that go into the bottom of the pump that need wiggling.

Sounds like one of them is loose, either where they go into the pump or where they come out of the Varistream.
