Best way to convert a whole new round to WFP
« on: December 14, 2006, 07:33:47 pm »
I am taking over another window cleaners round next week.
He at the moment is traditional but i will be doing these with WFP.

I don't want to lose to many if i can help it by just turning up with WFP some might wonder whats going on as a differant window cleaner and a differant method.

So what would be the best way of converting these as at the moment they don't know me from adam.
Should i do the first clean off ladders until i have seen most of these.

I would go round and visit them all but it will take a while as its 270 new customers and i just don't have the time to see them all

Do these customers know that he's selling to you?

Yes they know he has been telling them as he has been going round this month.
He didn't tell  them how i clean the windows though.

About 50 of the customers i used to do but i got rid of them to him last year, so these 50 won't be a problem.

Shame he hasn't told them how you clean.

Think i would clean them wfp & print out a note explaining how you have cleaned them & why.

I just took on a new job the other day as they weren't happy with their present w/c (trad) & could see why when i got there.
I didn't tell them i use wfp just got on with it. Customer came out & asked what i was doing, so i explained to her.
I told her to send payment after a couple of days if she was happy with the results.
The next day i had a phone call thanking me & couldn't believe the difference.
Payment came today along with another 3 phone calls for me to clean their windows.

I haven't bought any work as it would worry me about losing too many customers, but i think if you treat them as 1st cleans & go a bit over the top on what you normally do i expect you won't have too many problems.

Thanks craig.

I have not actually bought the work.
I helped this window cleaner out when he first started with customers.
Now he's moving to spain he said as i helped him out i can have his whole round.

But i am going to give him something for it.

I think the idea of cleaning them with WFP and putting a note through explaining the way that i clean them should do it.
And if there not sure i will do as you did tell them to send me the money if there happy with the results after a couple of days.

Thanks

Hi Paul

hope to see you at nec birmingham next year,

you could put a letter through explaining that youve taken over the round and you will be cleaning it wfp with an explanation letter to give them some idea how it works and the benefits  8)

The first time you do it you could do it by ladder and give all the top frames a good clean by hand with a microfibre so it gets the thickest of the muck off.  As i find people who have had it dome trad the top frames are filthy this might make it a bit easier for your first cleans then change over to wfp.
But there looks a lot of customers there to do by ladder :o

all the best

Brett.

I'd do a letter explaining it all, would be the best thing to do I think.

If you lose half of the 270 new ones due to WFP you still gain 135 new customers....
I wish i had your problem.. ;D

as said already, best to let them know with explanation letter and most will accept, when we changed to wfp we only told a few and the ones we didnt tell was mainly lost - this is on private houses, all commercial side was told and only had a few probs to go back and redo, none was lost. good luck, george

Just start the way you mean to continue.

You are a wfp wc, that's what you do.

If you start trad at all, people are funny, they will say when you change, why? Start off wfp and people will generally accept,

I agree, post a letter prior to cleaning and do the wfp from the word go.

I would'nt even bother about it. Just turn up and do them. I am canvassing at the moment and when I go to see a new customer I don't go into detail about how I clean the windows any more. The people are not as concerned as we think they are going to be. When I clean a new house I rarely get a comment and when I do its favourable.
