« on: June 21, 2004, 05:00:53 pm »
I'm a small buisness just myself and one employee and
i've just had a quote for £1400 :o for public liability for myself and employee liability for my one employee !

I'd be grateful for any advice you could give me to try and reduce this amount.

Well fantasia,

These boards are a two-way thing - tell us a bit more about you, and we'll tell you a bit more about the right stuff to use in your bucket!

What I meant was - fill in your profile and signature, let us know where you're from :)

Insurance companies are getting wary about higher work, what's your maximum height? If you use poles for some of your work that might help. My last renewal asked for a % split of the business into ground level, first floor, higher, and waterfed pole or work done from the ground.

Maybe you should ask the broker exactly what the company is looking for and adapt from that. For the extra premiums mine was asking for second floor and above, it wasn't worth doing - I'd have had to double my prices for those customers to break even.

Best of luck!
