I am a London based window cleaner and was recently in a cafe where there was a heated debate between window cleaners over who earns the most.

I was wondering who is the top earning window cleaner out there?

Gentlemen, and Ladies, be aware that HM Tax Inspectors use many different methods of gaining information - tip-offs from disgruntled ex-employees or neighbours, scouring the classified ads to see if the same sellers appear regularly, and browsing bulletin boards amongst others. If you're self-employed, and in a cash business, you're already a target.

I did that in a day mate well i was honest it was £385. I started @ 10am and was back home at 2.30pm no break and not stopping. I have down more than £1k as well, as yes i dont care about the TAX man as i pay all my taxes and NI. I know a few wc that earn over £1k per week every week.

If you don't slow down a bit you will be paying the VAT man as well. Your domestic customers won't like you adding vat on top of your price.

Why wont your domestic customers like you adding vat?its not going into your pocket its going into the pockets of customs and excise.And dependant on how long youve had those customers and how much they need you to clean their windows i dont think anyone of those customers will tell you to get lost because youve become succsesfull you have to charge vat.I know if i told my customers that i had to drop everyone of them because my commercial work has become so big that i have to charge vat they would all probably pay a little more to keep my services.Wht happens if you were asked to do 10,000 worth of commercil cleaning a month would you turn it down because you didnt want to charge a 5.00 house an extra 87p i think not.And as for dodging the tax man i would have thought the same goes for hairdressers,mechanics,street traders,carpet cleaners you name them as long as your running your business affairs propperly with business accounts receipts upto date finance reports no one should have anything to worry about.

Every cleaner i know using wfp are earning between 150.00 and 500.00 per day depends on how you are running your business.

Well I have just quoted one job 40'000-00 a year and one job that would take a week to do 3'000-00 THATS WHY I HAVE A WATER-FED POLE SYSTEM best business decision I EVERY made, I served my time up a ladder now its time my hard work paid off.
