How do I determine what my water pressure is?? Can I buy a meter? Or willthe water board know??Get a water pressure guage (most RO suppliers), fit it in the garage before RO entry. That will give you your pressure.I have a water softener at home (Twin tec). I live in a hard water area andwant to know if there would be any benefit in passing the water through theWS first before it goes into the RO?? Yes. It will prolong the life of the RO membraneI will have the RO in the garage and the WS is under the sink. Would it bepractical to have a simple hose pipe from a saddle connection from the waterpipe under the sink AFTER (through Water softener) through the hose pipe (10mtrs) to the garage then going through the RO?? Hose pipe will be exposedin Garden (problems re freezing??) Yes. But you will have to deal with the freezing issueWould I need a pump to get the water to the garage and if so should the pumpbe fitted pre water softener or after. In the kitchen or next to the RO inthe garage? It all depends what your mains pressure is, back to first question. Your RO supplier should guide you on what mains pressure you need. If you need a pump, put it in the garage.
Thanks PJI've been advised (on another forum) so put the RO under the sink. I will have the WS then pump (if needed) then RO then feed pipe to garage (10 mtrs which apparently will require large pipe to avoid back pressue?). If you have room the kitchen is good, will stop any issues about freezing. Feed pipe/delivery hose to garage doesn't need to be large, 1/2" is fine. How much pressure are you expecting??? Remember if you are boosting water pressure from mains you'll need a non-return valve(in case of "back pressure")Does this seem better option than RO in garage??If space isn't an issue, but remember a boost pump will make some noise in your kitchen!Second option I thought of was as above but buy new garden shed and have it 2 mtrs from kitchen and put water container in there.Again, it's about space reallyAny thoiughts on what would be best idea??Thanks again
