Benefit of a Web Site
« on: November 17, 2006, 04:21:05 am »
Gents.

Have been toying with the idea of creating a website. As a newbie, i'm still not making that much money, if I'm making any at all, but I have faith.

Besides the fact that a Web site sounds cool, do any of you have physical evidence that it has assisted your CC business in any way.

I can see the benefits for companies selling hardware such as a range of cleaning equipment, but I'm not sure that there is a big benefit for service companies, specifically carpet cleaning.

Your experiences would be appreciated

Regards
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy

I have my website running for about 2 months now and I would say - YES!!! But taking that you are in SA might make things a bit... well I just thingk that people over there are not so web driven as over here in the UK. But if you have a website make sure you market it. Use  it on all your meddia: flyers, emails, van ....

It works to send customers to our website if they are phoning for a price. (price shoppers) but make sure your website give the right message.

Hope it helps.

How is business down in Capetown?

the number one benifit for you with regrads a web page is expanding your message.

let me explane, when buying media say newspaper yellow pages etc space costs you money so, you drive (with an incentive) prospects to your web page for more detailed message.

Prospects only know one question "How much" so you have to give them loads of other reasons to use you. this is your USP. we dont want prospects to make their buying decion on price alone.

One exaple of the is joes polish warning advert, it positions the carpet cleaner as an expert giving advise. you might position yourself by giving value for money which is differant to being cheap.  your message might say that stain protection is part of you normal service or that dust mite treatment is?

the idea is that you make yourself differant to other cleaners so that you give your prospect somthing else to choose which cleaning they will use other than price.

other ways to expand your message is 0800 recorded messages, free dvd's guides, etc.

so when you book media space and as we all are on a limited budget use these methods to expand the message why buy space that most people will not read and if they are interested can get the info from you in exchange for their contact details in the case of dvd's and guides. so then even if you dont get the job stick them on your newsletter mail list so next time you will.

Jeremy goto www.oneandone.co.uk , we pay £40 a year it took me about 3-4 hours to create our website using the page builder tool they give you access to, its not the best website but untill i can afford to pay some spotty nerd £400 to design a mint one itl have to do.

the way i see it is use your web address on your limited space adverts such as in papers or yellow pages it only takes up a line, if a customer then visits your sote you have an opportunity to SELL your company and thats a different ball game alltogether.

I like your web site, looks good.

Worth every penny just gives people an option to find out about you without the need to call.

Cheers
