Any garage with the best interests of their cars in mind will employ someone to wash them daily with wash-and-wax.
If you wash it will pure water you'll take the polish off, then it would have to be re-applied.

I thought about this.
Though I would wash a car with a sponge with wash and wax and just use the pure water for rinseing.
I have rinsed all my cars with it and I wash the van just with pure water. The finnish is superb and after using on my vehicles for a year I have not had to polish them.

Don't start this old argument - been done!!
I personaly do wash my car occasionaly wfp but take it once per month to the pro's for wash n wax. I believe the wax polish will protect it better.

That's true David, I didn't want to add any more to it.
We've been over this before pretty thoroughly.
Can we leave it at that?

In most car washes they use a form of RO water for the final spot free rinse.
I personally have a metalic black Ford Ranger (not the best paint jobs in the world), its now two years old and I always power-wash with RO water to get rid of the grit, then wash by hand with car wash, than power rinse with RO. I wax about 3-4 times a year. It also is very effective on alloy wheels, and is a lot less aggressive than the acidic cleaners, it does not seem to damage the lacquer.
