I tried GG4 once and worked with it for a while.

but I mised my suds

Back to fairy for me. All them suds lubricate the blade, I couldn't spin that blade as fast with low suds.

Hmmmm....I've got a pub to do in & out first job today.

I'm going to chuck some vinegar in and see what happens.

Hope it doesn't make turning the squeegee on smoky interior glass difficult.
But then, you may have made the job easier.....

Squeaky clean, how did u get on with the pub job? Did the vinegar work? If not did u experiment with differing amounts? if not try axdding more or less vinegar next time. I personally havent done pubs but when i do inside of smokers houses usually add about 50/50% mix or 60 fairy 40% vinegar, dont know if that would be same for pub?

It worked a treat on the inside.

I put some in my spray bottle (found some vinegar in the pub's kitchen ) and wet them all first.
Then used my wet cloth to scrub them.
After that they barely needed buffing at all with the dry microfibre, and left no smears at all!!!!!
Magic!

Trouble is, it's not so good on normal outside squeegee work.
It kills the suds and makes turning the squeegee harder.
The smell bugs you after a while too.

So, to sum up...... I'll just use it in my spray bottle.

squeeky if you substitute ammonia for the vinegar it has the same effect but you dont lose the glide smells  just as bad though,in answer to the original question we use gg3 with a dash of ammonia,when you get used to it works as fast as dishwashing detergent and seems to leave a better finish with little to no detailing or wiping up after.a  lot of our domestic windows are 12 panes over 12 panes and gg3 has cut the time in half on these especially onthe insides as there is no suds to clean up afterwards. For those that love there Fairy then maybe if you added a dash of gg3 to your water you might get the gleam off the glass along with the ease of use of your fairy, I ave not tried it but might be worth a shot as there really is a noticable difference

Just try a cheap washing up liquid with a dash of dishwasher rinse aid. Been using it now for over 2 years. It's the dogs. Dai

LO LO!!! NEW FELLA HERE!  Not only to the site but fairly new to wc ( about 12 months) why the vinegar?? only ever used it on mi chips!?
  is it shine ? glide ? cuts through grime ?? let me in on this one

Not being a shiner, I would have thought Fairy liquid would be the last thing you would want to use on glass. I have watched the guys who fit the vinyl lettering on to vans and they use Fairy in water on the van surface to allow them to position the letters, and so they tell me the Fairy dries and sets like glue.

Also from my days in the building industry, some would use Fairy on the rubber seals on drain pipe couplings, again it set like glue and you could no move them after a couple of days.

Rubbish!

The only reason for fairy on those jobs is it has 'slip'.

You're good, but not that good!

I used to apply vinyl graphics for years, and it was for 'slip', nothing else.  The rest is nonsense.

ive done a bit of sign writing too, and i would agree its only use is to move the vinall about easier...nothing more
