Hi all

Today I had a phone call from a older lady who rang to ask me for a quote for her 6 bedroom house with a conservatory in Richmond, Surrey.

She want to drop her window cleaner because she say that the window cleaner who clean her house has not got a proper window cleaner ladder which is damaging her house wall.

I not sure what she meant about the ladder damaging her house wall.

The only problem is that, The window cleaner who she is moaning about is the man who gave me some window cleaning work when I first started.

So my problem is, should I tell the window cleaner about the phone call and what the problem is. And see if they can work somthing out.

or

seeing that it a big job and it ideal for me as I got wfp. Should I give her a quote as I could do with getting more work.

What would you do if you were me?

yeah, that's the best way.
Whatever the job is worth you will probably gain much more by keeping good relations.
He might not even want the job after you've mentioned it to him.

To be fair i would have a word with the window cleaner who gave you the work, he may put more work your way by the sounds of it this lady seems very fussy she could turn out to be a nightmare.  Its not worth jepordising a friendship over one house

I would not take her on as she has a window cleaner.
I would also let the other window cleaner know.

I doubt very much his ladder is damaging her wall.
Im always wary of customers like this.

I think as this guy has already helped you out you should do likewise, otherwise it would be a stab in the back, and as someone has already stated he may pass it on to you anyway or as he has already done pass other work on to you.
Good working relations between fellow window cleaners can only be of benefit to all of us, as this forum proves.

I think you are right Paul. I shall stay clear of her.

It not worth my time cleaning her windows if she being like this to him.

It could happen to me.

I will say to him I won't be doing her windows but should tell him to drop her.

As the others have said, because he's helped you out in the past it would be better to discuss it with him.  Regarding the wall "damage"; maybe he needs to try using ladder mitts on the end of his ladder if he's not already doing so.
