3300m2 how much?
« on: October 17, 2006, 07:02:44 pm »
Corridors on 6 different floors, 550m2 per floor in manchester. Each floor will be cleaned on seperate occasions and I will have no furniture to move. How much? Is £2/m a little pricey for such a big job? The general cleaning contractor is going  add on his 10% btw. Cheers

I would quote 20p a foot.

Most of the guys on here say im to cheap, but when i quote these prices to prospective customers they say im to dear ???
I have yet to win a decent size job at this price and iv quoted a few now ::)

If this job was suitable for LM system which sounds like it is , you could charge as little as £1 sq/m and still make good money.

Ok Red et al 20p/ft is over £2/m. This job would cost £7000. for 6-12 days work (both extremes). Surely someone isnt going to undercut that!

Rich,

It depends on how much you want the job.

Large contract cleaning companies, are getting sub-contractors in at 45p sqm.

did one similar recently for local housing offices and charged £1.50 / m and was done in a week with two of us on the go.

Nice tidy profit, probably best job i've done so far!

regards
steve

LM system is low moisture system i.e dryfusion ,texatherm ,charlypads etc
Again I would say in that sort of environment its the way to go , fast and efficient making good money at £1 sq/m . £2 sq/m is not necessary and certainly not competitive.

Thanks Mike, its obvious but I did miss it.

Found out another quote the building manager got was 1.50/m. I will go down to 1/m if I have to and still make a very nice profit.

These commercial jobs rarely get discussed but what is the best cleaning method here?

Depending on what the state of the carpet is I would initially hwe then maintain with either host or thermadry. £1.00 - £1.50  per m2 is reasonable
