I have been contacted by an insurance company to forward details of priceing structure and areas covered. I would like to cover as wide an area as possible, However im not sure how to put this into my costings. Can you put so much per mile or maybe have a minimum charge for callout beyond certain points on the map, prices increasing the further away I was to go. Can anyone help keith simm.

chem dry get 60 a callout i think, dont think distance comes in to it as chemdry are country wide , iam very surprised that an insurance company has asked u for prices as in my exp they will not entertain small carpet cleaning firms  even if they are cheaper as they want it  done right away  and firms like chemdry hav hundreds of cleaners    but its intresting  let us no how u get on

The other problem is getting paid. 12 month waits are common----- I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole. While you are argueing with them you could be earning proper money.

cheers i was asked to clean a landing but it was about 60 miles
up the coast initial inquiry came through yell.com he seemed quite keen on my truckmount setup .i dont mind traveling for large jobs but strugling how to word it

cant see them letting u  pick jobs,  thats y they use chemdry ,think about it y would they pay u say 120 to clean a hsl 60 miles away when they hav set prices at 60 for anywere in country , perhaps they were maybe just stuck for someone to do a one off job for them, just cant c insurance firm looking for someone to clean a hsl for them on the internet when they use likes of rainbow ,chemdry,serivce master etc etc ,sorry just seems bit odd

Are you sure it was an "insurance company" ?

It might be a local loss adjuster...they work independently(to a local area) to save insurance companies money and he may be sourcing someone local he can have a decent working relationship with .

If it is an insurance company direct then cleaning co is probably right...you would have to take the rough with the smooth and hope you get enough "decent"jobs to make up for the pain the backside small call outs.
