The short answer to both questions is yes.
Your water pressure is very low and in almost all cases you will need DI after an RO.
How much water do you need to produce per day and how quickly?

Scrimmy,
Extreme is quite right at that pressure your water will be 40-60 TDS and the production will be low as well. The Aquatec pumps for the Merlin will burn out if used for more than a few mins at a time.
We do a pump for a merlin it give just over 7 litres per min at 80psi but its quite expensive (by window cleaner standards) £340 inc vat & delivery. But it does work we've tested it. You can also have a low pressure cut out & a tank full pressures switch for an extra £100.
NOTE: this is a special pump designed for RO boosting and not a general purpose pressure boosting pump as may be seen on wfp suppliers sites.
