help! please Carpet bubbled
« on: September 17, 2006, 09:07:06 am »
I cleaned carpets at a property on saturday morning and the lounge immediately started to come up in bubbles after prespaying, it was the same carpet through out the house  and i had already cleaned 2 bedrooms and stairs with out any problems.

Am i right in thinking that there is a chance the lounge carpet has delaminated and would you say this a fault in the carpet or as a direct result of cleaning.
The carpet is a wool twist and is approx 5 years old, never cleaned reasonable level of soiling and quite a few marks in main areas.

Cleaned using craftex champion and then rinse extracted using premium clean.

I find it odd that this has only occured in the lounge and not in any other area as they were all cleaned the same way and the carpet all originally came off the same roll. Will it settle back once totally dry or do i need to brace my self for an insurance claim.

I have been carpet cleaning for 14 years and never had such a problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

John, don't worry about posting in the wrong section,a nice moderator will soon move it for you.
Afraid I can't really advise on your particular incident as I have never had a carpet ripple up just by applying pre-spray.
I have had a couple of carpets ripple up after cleaning but they have always settled down again when dry, they were old foam backed and certainly past their sell by date.
I would wait until they are completely dry and then have another look before panicking .-John

As stated by HQCS14
Yes would also wait till completely dry before panic sets in.
Wool usually would shrink if anything. At worst offer to have the carpet professionally stretched. I bet all will be okay!
