are wfp more trouble then they're worth?
« on: April 20, 2004, 11:16:29 pm »
I know you guys can help so here goes..

I am starting window cleaning within the next month and really wanted to use wfp right from the outset.  However im concerned about spotting.  When you start cleaning houses who perhaps havent had a window cleaner in a while I am really concerned my hard work canvessing will be lost by inferior results.  I guess my worry carries two questions

1) How do you minimise spotting especially on dirty windows and frames

2)  How did the current wfp users advise there customers that the windows wont be dried on completion

I really would appreciate your advice..thanks

Dave

Hi Dave

I have been window cleaning for 16 years and am now, like you, thinking of going over to wfp.  I have started using a standard pole instead of the ladder and I have talked to my customers about the wfp.  99% of my long established customers like the idea of using a pole because of the safety aspect.  As far as spotting is concerened they are not too bothered,so long as they get a reasonable job done safely. I've explained that the windows will be left wet and they understand that it should dry of clear.  Personaly, I am pleasently suprised at the possitive reaction from long established customers.

Read a few of Justins posts and take a leaf out of his book.

Hi Dave,

Have some fun with the "Search" button on the top bar - try for wfp, waterfed pole, you get the idea. Look at the boxes on the right, you can search by one poster, all posters, one word, all words in a phrase, an exact phrase - there are a few options to befuddle you for the first time!

Here's one result to get you started . .  http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Equipment;action=display;num=1081354650;start=2#2

And this is a link to an excellent board which is mainly for wfp topics and run by an ex window cleaner, now manufacturer of wfp systems . . . http://www.window-tools.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl  I can guarantee you'll be in the FAQs section for ages.

Oh, and all the best in your venture too!
